What is the right or wrong time to exercise?

Are we really getting an optimized workout from those off hour workouts? No, you aren’t causing any harm to your body with off hour workouts, but you may be depriving yourself of much needed sleep. You know by now that your body can handle whatever time you throw at it for workouts in fact it may come to expect your workouts to be at those times. While the professional researchers may debate the issue, the most important thing you have to consider is what works best for your life. As you develop a schedule for your workouts think about these things first.

Some of often cited reasons for exercising during the day include essentially positive benefits for the person doing it. We all get short breaks throughout our days and a lunch break too which offer the perfect opportunity for us to take a quick fitness walk. If you have flexibility in your break schedule this offers even more convenience for you. Your body becomes better able to respond to exercise as the day progresses. Your mind will be more prepared as well for afternoon or evening exercise. Diet and stress reduction are a couple of other reasons for an evening workout. Your body has greater energy demands which have the effect of making you want to eat foods that truly satisfy and nourish. If you are fortunate enough to have options for exercising at different times of the day, then you definitely should stick with late afternoon. There are of course a number of reasons that are quite compelling. Late afternoon workouts have been proven better due to our own physical ability in the afternoons. Also, we have more endurance in the late afternoon, as well. Our liklihood of injury is lower during afternoon times because our muscles are already as warm as they are going to be. This also depends on our overall fitness programs.
